Earlier this week, I posted about my Top 5 Hits of 2016. Today, I’m going to talk about my Top 5 Misses. Some of these are due to poor fabric choices, poor sizing choices, or poor execution. I would not say that any of these are due to poor patterns. Maritime Shorts These shorts were… Continue reading 2016 Top 5 Misses
Howdy friends! I’m back with another pair of Ginger Jeans! This pair is even better than the last!! Measurements & sizing I often wish people gave their measurements, especially when they talk about fit and alterations. Mine are 27″ (waist) and 40″ (hips). I cut a size 12 from the hips down. Above the hips,… Continue reading Ginger Jeans – take two!
Howdy friends! Sorry for the silence lately. Things have been quite busy here, but I’m super excited to share my new Ginger Jeans with you all today! I’ve been wanting to make my own jeans for quite some time now, and the Closet Case Patterns Ginger Jeans pattern was on my wish-list. I was really… Continue reading Ginger Jeans – take one!
I know I’m supposed to be working on my wearable wardrobe, but sometimes a girl’s just gotta make a bra! You might know that I’ve made several Watson Bras, but I’ve recently decided to try my hand at a bra I might actually wear out of the house (read: containing underwire). I looked a bunch… Continue reading Lavender & Nude Boylston Bra
I know my last post was about sewing a wearable wardrobe, and I did not include lingerie in those lists. However, I promise I whipped up this set before writing that post… We know I love the ease and simplicity of the Watson Bra. I also really love the details of the Nora Panties, so I… Continue reading Purple Watson Bra & Nora Panties Set
Howdy friends! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been making some toiles and trying to make some sewing plans. I thought I might share what those plans include. The goal of these plans is to make a wearable wardrobe. I’ve been sewing for about a year and a half now. While I’ve really enjoyed almost… Continue reading Making a Wearable Wardrobe
Ever since I made my first Anna dress, I’ve been dying to make another. I wanted a v-neck Anna dress, and I wanted an Anna maxi dress. I thought I might even be ambitious enough to have a thigh-high slit in one of them. I didn’t know if I wanted all of these things in one… Continue reading Whimsical Anna Maxi Dress
In the throes of summer sewing, I thought I might need to make the most summer apparel of them all: a swim suit. I had initially thought about making a bikini Watson set, since it would really just require different fabric and elastic. I decided to go for something that looked like a more “traditional” bikini (what… Continue reading Refuse to Sink – Ohhh Lulu Zooey Bikini
A couple of weeks ago, I was mindlessly scrolling through instagram, enjoying everyone’s Me Made May wears, and I stumbled upon a post from Itch to Stitch requesting pattern testers. I eagerly applied and was super excited to be selected as a pattern tester. The Vienna Tank pattern was released today so now I can show mine off! 🙂
So this year for Me Made May, I decided I was aiming for one me-made item per week. I’ve only been sewing for about a year, and I seem to mostly make dresses and lingerie, so I knew my everyday-wear options were slim. Without further ado, my 2016 Me Made May roundup! The first item… Continue reading Me Made May 2016 Roundup!
